Easy to use (2010-05-17)
Very easy to use and efficient, once you learn how to use it correctly. For instance, you have to push the water container very well in place in order for the water to start running and to get steam. Under the water container it is another container filled with resin beads, probably used as water softener or as a filter. In the instruction manual it is not mentioned that this container can come out when you remove the water container, but it does. Once out, it leaks a lot of water on the floor, because it doesn't have a valve on the bottom. You have to hold it in place with one hand when removing the water container. In the upright position, the unit is very unstable. You better lean it against something in order to avoid tipping over and cracking when it heats the floor. On my semi gloss hardwood floor, the cleaning pad gets holes in it after the second use. The moisture left behind on the floor is limited and it dries relatively fast. The cleaner doesn't use too much water even if you keep it all the time in the steam mode.

Cleans beautifully (2010-05-14)
The steam cleans beautifully. It works well on the tile floors, wood and other. I have used it to steam rugs after storage. It refreshes them and helps them flatten out after being rolled. It also makes everything smell nice. I have a cat and a dog, it makes me feel good to use only water to clean with. My dog is a diabetic and I worry about using harsh cleaners around him. My steam mop broke down and the company has been very nice about repairing it for me. I only had to pay postage.

Amazing! (2010-04-30)
This product is an amazing steam mop. It is my first experience cleaning my tile floors with one and my floors never looked better. It is easy to use and I've recommended this to all my friends who are purchasing it for themselves. Steamer works well, only a few minor issues (2010-05-18)
Well I have had this steamer for about 5 months now and I think it does a great job steaming and cleaning the hardwoods and tile we have throughout our home. I do have a few gripes with the product though:
1. The cord, oh the cord. I have to constantly fuss with the cord while I'm trying to maneuver the steamer. I've tripped on it a few times, so I wish they could have figured out a better way to keep the cord better organized.
2. The washable pads shrink no matter what. I wash them in cold water and hang dry them, no dryer and they still shrink in the middle part of the pad. Very weird.

All in all I think it's a great product and worth a shot if you're looking for a reasonably priced steamer.

Love it! (2010-05-18)
I originally purchased this because I hated mopping our large basement tiled floor. It's 25' x 30'. Our kitchen, hall, foyer & powder room are also tiled, almond color. OK, not the smartest decision! The first 2 times I used it, I did experience the excessive water for a few feet but it did end. My kitchen floor does stay cleaner longer and I don't know why. I didn't expect the grout to come clean as it is lower than the tile and needs to be scrubbed. I've never used a steam mop so I can't compare it to anything else but I'm totally please with the price & performance of this machine. I highly recommend it.

Great Steam Mop (2010-05-16)
After doing lots of research I bought the Eureka 313A Environ Hard-Surface steamer. I love it for my floors and for my granite countertop on a large kitchen island. I wish I had bought one long ago.

The BEST cleaning aid I have ever purchased! (2010-05-15)
If I am going to spend money on a household cleaning item I want to make sure it works. I researched the Eureka enviro. steam mop and was still hesitant. After comparing features and prices i decided to pull the trigger and purchase one. It was the best thing I ever purchased for my home!

Clean, disinfect and be environment and pet friendly. What I am saving on cleaning products is amazing. This mop took up stains on the linoleum that had been there for years and a standard mop could not release. There are a few things you should know about your mop though:

1) When you first use it the water will leak out fast and the steam is not really visible. Don't return it! I don't pretend to assume why, but after about 3 uses it works super efficiently drying floors in a minute or less.

2) The steam works best when pulling the mop towards you. I push it forward and pull it back VERY slowly. Remember even at about 220 degrees the steam needs 5-6 seconds to sanitize. Yes it may take a bit but your not plunging and wringing a mop .

3) I don't machine wash the pads. I soak them in a bit of detergent to release the dirt then hand wash in warm water. You should also hang them length-ways to dry. The fibers are cotton and will shrink so a bit of stretching may be needed for pads that have been used many times before. I don't machine launder for the shrinking issue.

4) You can flip your pad and use the backside to finish mopping a floor. No need to dirty another pad.

5) For stubborn stains let the center of the mop rest over the spot for 10-15 seconds. Repeat as needed.

6) Really deep textured linoleum or tiles will need a follow up scrubbing. Obviously this does not have bristles so it can't pick up dirt in deep grooves :-)

I hope this helps you decide and use your mop. I really hope you <3 it as much as I do!

M.J.Cummins "Mandy" Disappointed in Bathroom (2004-12-01)
I think you forgot to plug it in. My Hot shot is as hot as any steam can get and that's "scalding Hot". Perhap the problem is is that the cord was cut off it and you couldn't plug it in because it's Far from Short. My Hot shots cord is over 16 feet long. that's right count em SIXTEEN FEET LONG. I don't know maybe for some people that's short. for me that's the longest cord I ever had on ANY appliance and is MORE than sufficient. As for doing only 1" x 1" you must trying to get the red out of a red brick. OR Maybe you should clean a little more often. I do a whole oven and stove area on 1 fill. I do a 6" x ^' Macaw Cage with one fill. Talk about crevices and crooks and nannies. I use the steamer because IT IS THE MOST ENVIRONMENTALLY SAFE CLEANER avaiable and I don't have to worry about injuring or killing my bird. Besides it works wonders at cleaning and killing Germ
I would advise everyone to ignore Mandys Review I believe she was using some other brand and would highly recommend the Eureka Hotshot 350

THE BEST HAIRSPRAY REMOVER (2003-10-26)
The Hot Shot Steamer is the best cleaner on the earth. Especially for the bathroom. The hairspray builds up on the vinyl floor and is very hard to remove, but the Hot Shot removes it with ease. And best of all, there's no chemicals...just add water and go.
